There are a lot of different markets in Chiang Mai: night, day, weekend, or markets which sell only street food. There are so many of them that it will take a month to visit all Chiang Mai Markets. Sunday Market



The Sunday market is open only on Sundays, it is located almost in the center of the Old City on Ratchadamnoen and Phrapokklao streets. The market works in the evenings from 6.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.


The Sunday market is a great place to buy magnets and other souvenirs at inexpensive prices (only 25 THB) and each product is really handmade. There are also many figures of elephants, paintings, scarves, fragrant soaps, and other goods for tourists. If you are not particularly interested in souvenirs, just go past street musicians to the area with street food. Here everyone will find something tasty: strawberries, ripe mango with coconut milk and rice for 40 THB, scrambled eggs fried in banana leaves on charcoal for 20 THB and other traditional dishes.




Warorot Market (Kad Luang)



There is a large assortment of clothes at the Warorot market: T-shirts, shorts, dresses, in general, everything you need for everyday wear. The average price of a t-shirt is 100 THB. Fruits are also sold here: strawberries, mangoes, passion fruit, and there is a small food court.


Here you can buy exclusive clothes which are made only for you - shirts, trousers, sundresses for affordable prices. For example a unique shirt, designed specially for you, costs about 500 THB. There is also a large selection of national Thai clothing. Women dressed in national costumes create a special atmosphere of Thai flavor. Textiles and accessories for sewing are also sold here. For example, natural cotton is sold for 90 THB.


The market is located on the east side of the Old city. It is easy to find it by the name "Warorot Market", it is located at the intersection of Thapae Road and Chang Moi Tud Mai Road. The market works from morning until dusk (up to 05.00 p.m.).




Saturday Market



Thanon Kon Dern Wua Lai Saturday Market is a great place to buy handmade silver jewelry at a good price. In addition to silver, you can find anything at the market: from food and souvenirs to clothes. The Saturday market is located near the Silver Temple (Wat Srisupan). The Saturday market is held every Saturday on Wua Lai road not far from Chiangmai Gate from 05.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.




Night Market



In Chiang Mai there is the famous Night Market (or Grand Bazaar). Locals call it Kalare Night Bazaar. In fact, this market can hardly be called "night", because it works from 06.00 pm to midnight. Chiang Mai Night Market is located on Chang Khlan Street not far from the square of the old city. Night Market is a great place for tourists: here you can buy various souvenirs, interior items, clothes, jewelry, watches, bags, wallets and other goods. There is also a food court with Thai food, where you can eat and watch concerts with live music. You can spend good evening in restaurants, bars, massage salons at ​​the Chiang Mai night market.
